Big Baby Madness

With the new Gammon film finally finished and out the way, (see here: Gammon)  I've decided to go back to basics.
I want to do a few short pieces, most recently I created a new Georges reviews. (See here: Georges reviews)

And for this month I've decided to do the 11 second club. This will keep me from spending the next couple of years on a single project.
I want to work on short pieces like this and will probably do some more Georges reviews over the coming months whilst I work out what my next big project will be.

I'm hoping to get the Gammon film into festivals for this and next year and if successful I may be working on the continuation of that.

But for now we have the 11 second club, a short monthly animation competition in which you animate to a piece of dialogue, see link if you are interested: 11secondclub.com

Now after all my babble, here's the interesting stuff, the pictures!

This is the mother character with a few mouth designs

And here is my unintelligible storyboard
(If you can understand this then you are a very smart person)

These are just my initial idea pages, there will be more up soon and it should make a bit more sense.

I'll keep updating as the month and project go on, so keep checking back for more updates!

11 second club

Okay, so i've been working on animating the animated music video for the past few weeks with a busy looking week coming up soon.

But still i thought for a little light and fun animation i'd do the 11 second club this month.
I have never actually done an animation for the 11 second club but i thought i'd give it a go.

I have made up a puppet and i'll make up a simple set over the next few days and create a dope sheet for the animation and then after next weeks busy animating i'll take a break by animating.... some more....

Anyway, here is the puppet i have made for the animation:

(Update below)

Here is an updated photo of my character on set, it needs a few bits adding to make it look more like an office, but this is the shot i am going to use for the animation.

Rock climbing tests for music video

I am very exited at the moment, as not only am i now working on recreating an old animation series that i have been longing to start for a long time, but I have also been asked to animate on a stop motion animated music video for a well known band.

I am not sure how much information i can disclose at present but to prepare for this animation i have been doing some very basic tests with an old armature.

I was told to practise rock climbing animation and here is what i have so far:

I have also started doing animation tests on the real puppets and sets, but i will have to ask permission before putting up anything from the acual video.
I start animating on this project properly Monday morning, i am very much looking forward to it.

As for my other project, i will post more soon.
Keep following

Pub set

I realised in my last post that i didn't really explain the pub set that my latex figure was destroying so i thought that would be the topic for today:

So to start i took a painting by Van Gogh:

I then built the painting as a the set out of foam board to see how it would look and to get the scale right

I then built the set out of wood, foam board and paint, i tried to make the set look a lot like a painting and i think i achieved this very successfully.

And here is the painting and the set together so you can see how it works.
That's all for today really, but here is the link for the film again if you missed it:
